When weaving tapestries, I prefer to use my own dyed and spun Shetland wools (sourced here in Delaware County, NY)
Because of the variables of dye intensity and the natural slubbiness diameter of the wool as I handspin, I can achieve energy in the woven design. To me, it is important to show off the wool’s textural qualities. These wools were used for JOY #2 (c) 2018, seen in the photo below.
