Teasels, (c) 1995, Etching, Catskill Views, 9″w x 11″h
This small etching was exciting to create: it was one of the earliest drawings I did in which I was amazed at my skill.
Teasels are used/were used to raise the woolen fibers on woven cloth to add more warmth to that product. Also, as I was going through copies of ink drawings done by my mother’s maternal grandfather William Parkinson, I found one he had done also of teasels.
