Tree, (c) 1990, Tabitha Gilmore-Barnes Studio, watercolor
TREE, (c) 2017, Embroidery, Autobiographical, 36″ diameter
This was started around 2002 and only completed in January 2017. From 2002-2006 I pursued a Masters Degree in order to advance in my job, which did not happen.
TREE then became more autobiographical (as seen with the grey clouds and dead tree trunk) in representing time on the job = time away from the studio (creativity). Thanksgiving Wednesday 2016 I retired: RELEASE.
This release is seen with the blue sky clearing, the green grass, and the fire still within the tree trunk and branches.
