HALLELUJAH #4 (c) 2022, Scripture, (subtitled “Auschwitz”), 18″w x 25″h
HALLELUJAH carries intensity, boldness, and exuberance because it celebrates the close and personal relationship between GOD and His Chosen People of both Old and New Testaments. The critical inspiration for this tapestry comes from Sophie Tauber von Arp — see photo.
.
This specific tapestry focused more on the individual’s spiritual determination to exult GOD in face of persecution and threatened annihilation. The colors have symbolic meaning: green script emphasizes victory, hope, and defiance over burning grey smoke; the red border and streaks reflect the martyr’s dying; and the black streaks or cracks in the grey background hint to failure to annihilate God’s saints.
