CONSIDER THE LILIES, Matthew 6 v 28-29, (c) 2023, Tapestry, Scripture, 17″w x 20″h

I am a member of the East Branch Delaware River Plein Air Painters.  We were privileged to spend several mornings in the landscaped gardens of one member, and the many multi-colored daylilies were all in exuberant bloom.  

My pastel drawing focuses on a small grouping that shows the day life cycle of these flowers.  I was also struck that such a cycle reflects Jesus’s words, “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”
