Woodstock Artists Association & Museum, 28 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY presents BY A THREAD Exhibit from January 19 – February 25, 2024, Thursdays-Sunday Noon – 5p.m.. Thank you to Fritz Horstman for jurying my tapestry LOST (c) 2023 for this Exhibit, and to Elizabeth Keithline for all her support. From the press release, “The presentation explores the ways some artists use fabric to elevate traditional craft to a high art form, or assert the importance of craft in its own right…..to reject the notion that fiber art is closely associated with domesticity or tasks that are stereotypically performed by women.” Framing: Courtesy Geoff Rogers Framing.
Roxbury Arts Group, Vega Mountain Road, Roxbury, NY opens FORGOTTEN SPACES Exhibit, February 17-April 13, 2024, Tuesdays – Saturdays 9a.m.-4p.m. and accepted my tapestry GRIEF (c) 2024. The human figure is loosely sketched in in purple dyed wool, almost disappearing into the dark grey background. Grief so easily renders the grief stricken intensely lonely and wrapped up into one’s self. Outsiders can be ill prepared and without skill to comfort the griever; they may feel incredibly awkward and too intimate an emotion, thus reducing the griever to the point of invisibility. Framing: Courtesy Geoff Rogers Framing
Gould Church, Main Street, Roxbury, NY will host my tapestry series “FALL FROM GRACE – FALL INTO GRACE” ™ at the 90:30a.m. Sunday Service, February 18, 2024. This series is Scripture based.
