“Shema O Israel:  The Lord our GOD is the one Lord….”

This Call to Israel, from Deuteronomy Chapter 6, v. 4, is God’s unending call to all to hear, to believe and to enter into the blessed covenant of life He offers (Deuteronomy Chapters 28-30).  The Shofar, a ram’s horn, is sounded to mark Feast Days, the Acceptable Year of the Lord, and the Jubilee Year.

While the yellow/gold dash marks next to the Hebrew text represent the Shofar’s piercing sound, the yellow green text against the reddish background can be hard to read, thus reflecting our own potential deaf ear to God’s voice.
