GOOD FRIDAY (c) 2025, Tapestry, Scripture, 22″w x 24″h, $3,500 + s/h

This started as a small sketch, but as the weaving progressed towards the 3 crosses, two inspirations occurred:  The inclusion of the blue sky tear drop to indicate God the Father’s presence at His Son’s crucifixion; and the off kilter directions of the primary cross to emphasize further the awe-fullness of man’s sin and God the Father’s demand for justice to rectify and restore creation.

Luke 23 v 44-45 “It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour” RSV).  Another title, equally appropriate, is ‘Culpae Obnoxium’.
