Owl (c) 2017, Tapestry, Catskill Views, 16″w x 14″h

This image is based on Greek bas relief of Athena’s owl–her symbol of her wisdom, but also in some cases a symbol of death.  I struggled with creating the curve of the wing on the left side of the image, and with blending the shades of grey.  I am pleased with the eyes, highlighted with a touch of blue.
